Dr. Md. Kamrul Azad has been recognized as a dedicated Medicine Specialist and Endocrinologist, with over 17 years of experience in the management of internal medicine and hormonal disorders. The academic journey was initiated with the completion of an MBBS degree from Chittagong Medical College in 2004.

Specialized postgraduate training has been undertaken, including a Diploma in Endocrinology and Metabolism (DEM) from BIRDEM in 2014, followed by a Fellowship in Medicine (FCPS) awarded by the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2017. The MD in Endocrinology was conferred by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in 2024, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology was completed in 2022. Additionally, advanced training in Endocrinology was received in Singapore under a program conducted by Mayo Clinic, USA.

Further expertise in thyroid treatment was gained through advanced training in Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) of thyroid tumors under Professor J. H. Baek at Asan Medical Center, Seoul—one of the world’s leading institutions in endocrine intervention. This achievement has established Dr. Azad as a pioneer of non-surgical and minimally invasive thyroid treatment in Bangladesh.

Currently, the role of Consultant and Head of the Department of Endocrinology is being held at Sarkari Karmachari Hospital, Fulbaria, Dhaka. A wide range of endocrine and metabolic conditions—including diabetes, thyroid, adrenal, pituitary, and reproductive hormone disorders—have been effectively managed under his guidance.

Membership has been obtained in several esteemed professional organizations, including the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), the Bangladesh Endocrine Society (BES), and the Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and Diabetologists of Bangladesh (ACED’B).

Throughout his professional journey, a commitment has been maintained to clinical excellence, evidence-based practice, patient education, and the advancement of endocrine care in Bangladesh.
